Project Sammaan focuses on developing a model replicable project on the Headload labourers’ (Mutias) psycho-social and behavioral changes and adaptation of best practices in Burrabazaar area located at Kolkata. The project also seeks to improve the quality of life of the people in the project area by ensuring that there is reduced usage of drugs and alcohol among the labourers, youth and children by developing their attitudes and abilities. It conducts regular HIV/AIDS testing of the labourers, medical check-up camps for the detection of TB, Hepatitis, Diabetes, Blood Pressure and other illnesses, ophthalmology camps, Yoga and Meditation workshop, sexual awareness camps and motivational camps.
